Launch of all workshops during the 2022 Festival
A program in two parts: support for a group of Parcours de Femmes, but also various initiatives for young people in Cannes who are far from culture.
May 17, 2022: opening of the Cannes Film Festival but also of the Quinzaine en Actions, as part of the Directors’ Fortnight. It is at the Théâtre de la Licorne that the launch of the festivities takes place. The opportunity for the teams to present the work carried out during the Cannes workshops this year, in the company of the godmother Maud Wyler and the various partners and stakeholders of the program.
The thanks of the partners and sponsors of which the Foundation is a part are followed by the screening of two short films by Billie Dumas and Léo Przybylski, graduates of the CinéFabrique Lyon – National School of Cinema, based on the scenarios of Gwenaëlle Guerdin and Gwenaëlle Corby , written during the Parcours de Femmes 2021 workshop. Basile, Farid, Melina and Zélie, ERACM students, then read the scenarios of the participants of the Parcours de Femmes 2022 workshop.
Finally, the session ended with the screening of the film “Fragments”, produced by the young participants of the screenplay and production workshop.
As a reminder, the support of the Cannes Foundation allow the accompaniement of around a hundred young people from Cannes in a total immersion experience within the Director’s fortnight (the “young” part of the Quinzaine en Actions project). Screenings, critical writing workshops, introduction to audiovisual production, professional meetings: the purpose of the project is to allow these young people to get a foothold in the Festival through the Directors’ Fortnight, to discover the world of cinema and the associated jobs and careers.
Friday May 20. It is 10 a.m., two groups of young people from Cannes are meeting on the beach at the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs. The first, a class from SEGPA, is preparing for a photo workshop, allowing them to discover and offer another look at the Festival, with the theme “under the Festival”. A workshop closed by a photo exhibition at the Noailles media library on Thursday 25 May.
On the other side of the beach, on which reigns a peaceful atmosphere, is the second group made up of final year students from the Lycée Jules Ferry in Cannes, gathered around the crew of the film “Les Harkis”, which they were able to see the day before. The actor Pierre Lottin, the producer Yasmina Nini-Faucon, the assistant director Marie Fischer and the production administrator Marion Busque of the film were able to lend themselves to the game of questions from these young people, curious and interested in the game of actors, the story and history and the social effects among others. The day before, another professional meeting made it possible to invite young people from local missions from all over France for an exchange with part of the L’envol team: Marco Grazieplena, cinematographer, Maria Cristina Gimenez Cavallo, assistant director and Carole Lepage, editor.
A rich program, to be found opposite!
