Auction of Cannes NFTs and support for the Cannes Endowment Fund

Auction of the ten sites and cult buildings in Cannes in the form of NFT: 10% donated in support of the local environmental action of the Cannes Endowment Fund!

Innovation at the service of the attractiveness and prosperity of the Cannes area

As part of its approach to promote and enhance heritage, the City of Cannes, in partnership with the Cannes company Pertimm, digitized, last April, eleven emblematic sites, in the form of NFT. The auction, organized by the famous house Artcurial, took place this Tuesday, June 21 at the Harbor Master’s Office of Port Canto. It raised 331,936 euros (costs included) under the hammer of Maître Oliveux, a success for a first. 10% of the sums will allow the realization of local environmental projects via the Cannes Endowment Fund.

Since 2014, the City of Cannes has engaged the city in a dynamic of innovation, booming domain for future generations and local prosperity, around new technologies but also the creative and cultural economy and the space industry. This approach is materialized by a proactive municipal and inter-municipal policy in terms of accommodation and support for the economic development of start-ups and companies within the Cannes area.

In view of this ambitious strategy and the strong expansion of the market around NFTs, David Lisnard has undertaken a world first, the digitization of eleven cult places in the city, in the form of NFTs. With this pioneering operation, the municipal will is to include Cannes within the metaverse with the auction organized on June 21, 2022 by the Artcurial house.

This operation aims to strengthen the attractiveness of the city but also to support the implementation of environmental actions. Indeed, 10% of sales will be donated to the Cannes Endowment Fund, whose mission is to support local associations working to protect biodiversity. Among the first initiatives is the financing of the restoration of Posidonia meadows in the Bay of Cannes by the NaturDive association.
