The support of the Cannes Foundation for RC Cannes Volleyball has made it possible to introduce the sport and its virtues to many young girls who were far from it through the organization of volleyball courses during the school holidays for young Cannes residents of QPV neighborhoods.
“Holidays together” aims to allow young Cannes girls/children to discover a collective sport. The objective is also to position this week of school holidays as a ritual, a gathering place through the discovery of volleyball and beach volleyball, thus creating a place of education, integration and sharing, allowing these young girls to learn to find their own spaces of freedom and independence. Four weeks are organized in total from January to August 2022, with 3 hours of activity per day.
EDUCATION THROUGH SPORT
Sport is a lever for individual development, social cohesion and territorial attractiveness. It is a structuring axis of the municipal policy led since 2014 by David Lisnard, mayor of Cannes, which is reflected in particular by the creation or renovation of infrastructures in all municipal districts to promote the practice of sport. Thus, sports halls or beach volleyball courts in Cannes become, throughout the project, meeting places where children can play and learn the values of sport. By offering them quality supervision during sports sessions, sports educators convey essential values for their future social integration.
- Through volleyball, sharing values such as fairness, team spirit, equality, discipline, integration, perseverance and respect for others;
- Bring confidence and independence to young girls from diverse cultural backgrounds;
- Promote sports practice.
Sports educators provide a framework of quality and trust through the intervention of:
- 2 qualified head trainers;
- 1 physical trainer;
- 1 specialized educator.
